Getting back to this

So I am trying to start updating this blog again. Possibly even regularly.

Today's card is for River Spirit Designs.

At first, I didn't recognize the card at all. It had "Animal Speak" by Ted Andrews and Animal Tarot written on the back.

So when I went to their site I realized what this card is and where I got it.

River Spirit Designs has been been making and selling handcrafted jewelry since 1988.

I met and chatted with one of the artists (Robert Swantak) at a Big Brothers Big Sisters craft fair. He had donated a piece to their silent auction and I was collecting the donations. We discussed my love of ravens and the notes on the back were things he recommended I look into.

Unfortunately, when I got to the site I discovered that the gentleman I spoke to passed away in 2008. And.. yeah. :( I'm glad I got to meet him and I'm going to make an effort to track down that book.

Why look! Another business card.

This one is definitely from Paradise City. I saw a number of his painting live and in person and they're just amazing.

I don't want to hot link, but here are some of my favorites:

Purple Fins
Petrified Circles
Spiral

Unfortunately the pictures don't do these paintings justice.

Two weeks worth

I have been a little distracted, but here are the URLs from the two cards I should have posted:

www.anselblue.com - I think I got this one at a Pioneer Valley Roller Derby Match

www.susanelkin.com - Someone I know through an Etsy.com street team.

Erica Zap Designs

Erica Zap is one of my favorite jewelers. My mom and I always stop at her booth at Paradise City. My mother almost always buys something.

My current favorite necklace is from her sterling collection.

Go Storyteller.com

I'm pretty sure I met Raelinda Wood at the Paradise City Arts Festival, but it may also have been at a craft fair out in Boston. She makes these really awesome storybook pendants and pins.

I hadn't actually made it to her website until today, and when I did I discovered her warning about storylurkus chocolatus - a stealer of chocolate who uses convoluted stories as distractions. I have to watch out for those.

Dragon

Jan's Jems

I met this lovely lady at a meeting for Etsy's Western MA Street Team. Her Etsy shop is JansJems.etsy.com.

Turns out she works at a local college where a friend of mine works IT. So the universe shrunk a bit when we got to talking.

DJ Daniel

Today's card is for Daniel Sevelt a DJ and event producer. I couldn't find a website for him, but I found Facebook and Myspace pages. (You can Google him yourself if you're bored.)

According to Facebook, we have mutual friends, but honestly I have NO IDEA where I picked up his card.

I assume I picked it up because he's a DJ in Western MA, so I'm going to add him to Red Gown Wedding's DJ list.

Frost Indri- Meghan Chalmers-McDonald

This card must be old, because the website printed on it is no longer available. Thankfully Google helped me find the artist's Facebook Fan Page and that lead me to her website, and then to her Lost Ocean Gallery.

I definitely picked this up because of her jelly fish pieces. Not sure where tho. Probably Paradise City...
